Driving to the south side from Huaraz passing some villages up to Santa Cruz bridge from where the hike starts going up at the west side of the Santa river.
Going up with the spectacular views, from agriculture terraces and some white snow covered peaks.
Affter around 1 ½ or 2 hours walking we arrive to the lake Willcacocha located in the Cordillera Negra at the opposite site of Cordillera Blanca from where we can appreciate the particular color lake the panoramic scenery surrounded by many mountains: Huandoy, Chopicalqui, Huascaran, Hualcan, Copa, Vallunaraju, Ocshapalca, Ranrapalca, Churup, and more.
Descending down to the village Chilca , and finally arriving to the main road and taking the transport back to Huaraz
