A well known shorter trek in the Cordillera Blanca.With an amazing variety of scenery, spectacular mountain views, blue lakes and the challenging Punta Union pass over 4750m.
ITENERARY:
Day 1: Drive to Cashapampa 2900m 3 hours.going up next to the Santa Cruz river canyon to, first couple hours are steep then gets better just gently going up, then camp at Llamacorral 3760m 5 hours walking.
Day 2: Relaxing day hiking in a wide, open valley to Taullipampa 4250m. 5hours walking.icluding view point Alpamayo (opcional going gently up to Alpamayo base camp and Arhuay cocha takes 3 hours)
Day 3: Going up for 2 to 3 hours to the pass Punta Union 4750m then descending to wide green valley Cachina pampa 3750m camp site 8 hours walking
Day 4: Follow easily down the valley Quebrada Huaripampa passing through farming settlements and villages, and then a short climb to the road end at Vaqueria 4 to 5 hours walking, then Portachuelo pass 4767m, driving, passing the famous Llanganuco Lakes and then back to Huaraz.
